Verified Great time on this tour!
We had a blast today! César and Martín are both great guides. Very knowledge able, able to answer all questions and just fun to have around! We started with a guided tour in Chichén Itzá,… No. Actually, we started at the pickup, which was at the time and place where it was supposed to be. Boarding went fluent, seats were assigned before hand, so we as a family were all able to sit together. On the way to Chichén Itzá, César explained all kind of interesting things involving the Mayas, their calendar,… too much to write down here, guess you need to take this trip to know more. At Chichèn Itzà, we had to option to wander around by ourselves or take the guided tour. I myself would highly recommend the latter. Again very clear explanations, fun facts, incredible facts and so on… After the guided tour we were able to wander around be ourselves some more, take some nice pictures, just take it easy really… One warning, which the guides tell you too, it does get very hot there. This is not exaggerated. If you are known to not being able to withstand this kind of heat be sure to rent an umbrella, or bring one yourself for some personal shade. You also get a complementary bottle of water when leaving the bus, which is a nice touch. But be sure to bring one yourself too! You know the heat…But really everything is explained when booking the tour as well. If you read everything carefully, follow advices, you will have a great time.Next stop after the impressive Chichén Itzá is the Cenote and buffet lunch. We travel with a 9 and a 14 year old, so we decided to have lunch first. Everybody had plenty to eat and it all tasted great. Be sure to listen in on the advice Martín gives about the food before arrival. It is well worth it!The Cenote… Really a beautiful place! More so than I imagined! The water is cold at first when you get in, but it feels sooo good after the Chichén Itzá heat. There is also a fun 3 meter jump witch I personally thought was really fun. The mandatory life jackets make it so that you can relax even more when swimming or floating around there.Next stop a small city, the name slips my mind right now.. There, you can participate in a tequila tasting. This was great fun as well! I personally never drank this beverage and I must say, I liked every kind I tasted! We travel with carry-on luggage only, so sadly, I couldn’t buy a large bottle here. I had to settle for a small 50 ml one…The townItself I didn’t really explore, so I can’t say much about this… That’s about as far as my experience goes about this trip. Another special thanks to José, our skilful driver, who got us forth and back safely!
