We know your holidays must begin at your arrival at the airport, that’s why here are some important facts you need to know so you can start your vacation without any worries.

Cancun airport has four terminals. Terminal 1 is used for charter flights. Some domestic flights and some scheduled international flights come through Terminal 2, and Terminal 3 and 4 handles international airlines.

Arrival Process


Present the documentation in Migration

During your flight, you will have received a customs form (FMM) which you should have filled out before you land. You will present this form to the immigration officer.


Baggage claim

Make your way to the luggage conveyor belt for your flight and collect your luggage, then, pass through customs.


Customs area

Head to the customs area with your custom declaration form in hand. You need to push a button wich will determine if your suitcases are to be inspected.


Walk directly outside

Before you exit the airport, you will pass through a hallway with desks and people offering tourist information and services. Many of these are timeshare salespeople, and they may call out to you, we strongly recommend you to ignore them and continue on to the exit.


Locate your representative

Locate your representative who will be wearing a turquoise T-shirt and white pants. Our staff will be holding a welcome sign.


Airport Staff

Our staff will be in contact with the driver to ensure a seamless transition from airport to car.

Terminal 2

It has two arrival gates, domestic on the right and international on the left.


Terminal 3

Our staff will be all the way right, just after taxi sellers area.


Terminal 4

Our staff will be on the left side, just in front of the Welcome Bar

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Terminal is my flight arriving to?

If you have an international flight arriving from Canada or the United States, you probably arrive at Terminal 3.

In case you have a flight coming from Europe or South America, you will probably arrive at Terminal 2 International Arrivals.

Whether you have a domestic flight, you’d be arriving at Terminal 2 on the domestic side. 

How can I locate my driver at the airport?

In all the terminal buildings of the Cancun airport, there is a “meet & greet area” where travel representatives usually wait for their customers; our representative will be at the meeting point waiting for you with a banner with SAT Mexico logo or your name on it. 

What if my flight is delayed?

We constantly check with the airline if your flight is on-time; we will know exactly when it will arrive.

How far are the hotels from the Cancun Airport?

The hotels located in Cancun are about 20-30 minutes away, depending on which hotel. Hotel Zone takes about 20 minutes; for Playa del Carmen hotels, it takes about 50-60 minutes, it takes about 1 hr to get to Akumal or Puerto Aventuras and about 1 1/2 hrs for Tulum.
