The archaeological zone of Palenque
It is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Although the area we can visit is only a tiny percentage of what Palenque was during its splendor in the Classic period, the highlights are the Temple of the Count, the Palace, and the Temple of the Inscriptions, as well as Temples XII and XIII.
The Palace is the largest area where you can appreciate buildings such as stairways, patios, corridors, and even subway passages. The element that distinguishes this complex is a four-sided tower that watches over visitors.
